List of demo scenes
This is a non-exhaustive collection of movie scenes with great audio for testing the limits of your sound system after it's calibrated with Cavern QuickEQ. Ratings are objective with predefined criteria, graded by Cavernize's demo grading feature. A full description of what metrics are graded is available on this page, but a short summary is:
- Macrodynamics (Ma.): Loud sounds are actually loud and silent sounds are actually silent. The better the scene is utilizing silent and loud sounds, the better the grade.
- Microdynamics (Mi.): Volume fades under a second are instantaneous and not gradual. Better scores usually mean better overall sound quality, as it shows the absense of destructive dynamic range compression.
- LFE macrodynamics (LFE): Lower values indicate the bass is not dynamic, just a long humming noise.
- Chest slam (Slam): The presence and power of quickly rising loud bass thumps.
- Surround (Surr.) and Height (Heig.): How well and distinctly the spatial channels are utilized.
NR
means the audio track with height is only available in a format Cavernize couldn't decode at the time of entry, andNA
means the movie was only mixed with regular surround sound, no immersive track is available. - Final grade (Grade): The average of all grades converted to the 1-6 range from F-A+.
Movie | Yr. | From | To | Ma. | Mi. | LFE | Slam | Surr. | Heig. | Grade |

[1] - The macrodynamics value is relatively low, because this scene has a single slow dynamics change, but the amplitude of it is among the largest of all content listed here. As such, this is a very good demo to show what dynamics is about.
[2] - Measured on a Dolby Atmos Demo Disc. A larger timespan for the same scene is given for the movie.
